Neue deutsche Filmgesellschaft - NDF
neue deutsche Filmgesellschaft mbH (New German Film Company , in short ndF), headquartered in Unterföhring near Munich, was founded in 1947 and is one of the largest independent film production companies in Germany. Its product portfolio ranges from television and cinema films, series and international co-productions to advertising films.
The company was founded in 1947 by director Harald Braun, screenwriter Jacob Geis and lawyer Wolf Schwarz. The license was issued on November 20, 1946 by Brigadier General Robert A. McClure as a representative of the American military government. Zwischen gestern und morgen (Between Yesterday and Tomorrow) was the name of the first feature film made in the founding year under the direction of Harald Braun. The leading roles were played by Hildegard Knef and Viktor de Kowa.
Before ndF became independent again in 2003, it belonged to KirchMedia's TaurusProduktion. Since then, ndF has once again been the largest independent producer of fictional programs in Germany. (Source: Wikipedia)
