Dailyme
Dailyme is a German video-on-demand service for mobile devices. It is available via mobile apps on the common Android, Apple and Windows operating systems, as well as to a limited extent via the provider's web interface. The most important feature is the download of programs via WLAN (or, if desired, via mobile phone) and time-shifted viewing offline without an Internet connection, which the provider calls the “Download-2-Go method”. Dailyme is a streaming portal that sublicenses the broadcasting rights of selected TV channels and other program pools and offers them in parallel to other streaming portals. A selection from the program offerings of cooperating program partners is available. The largest shareholders are ReFer GmbH and hotsplots GmbH.
The company was founded in 2007 in Berlin as a start-up by Michael Merz, Dirk Kamrad and Holger Schween. The service was available for the first time in 2008. As the platform operator has to negotiate sublicenses with the rights holders for secondary exploitation, the range of programs is subject to change. How long a downloaded programme remains available depends on the negotiated license, with the main restrictions being on takeovers from private programme pools. (Source: Wikipedia)
